Saddle Stitched

A wire-stitched brochure represents the simplest type of binding, excelling both in low price and ease of opening. A disadvantage may be low stress resistance, potential corrosion of the metal clasp and a danger of injury, particularly if a small child handles the product. These characteristics predestine this type of binding for use on simple, undemanding products with a short lifetime. An example might be company manuals, magazines and flyers.

Wire-stitched brochures may be provided in a classic version, with flat clasps and in a version with so called Ω-clasps which can be filed in folders.
